Who we are

Minnesota Tree Experts is the customer-facing name of our tree service. Minnesota Tree Experts LLC is the operating company. MTE Acquisition Inc. is the parent company and the registered brand for our business text-message program.

This policy describes the scheduling and customer communication system at minntree.com. Minnesota Tree Experts uses it to prepare estimates, schedule work, send invoices, and keep a record of customer communication. It does not describe a separate marketing website.

Information we collect

When you request work, or when our office records a job for you, we collect:

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• The service address, and a mailing address if you give us a different one
• Company name, a description of the work, timing notes, and how you heard about us, when those are provided
• Estimates, including scope and price
• Scheduling information, including dates, arrival windows, and job status
• Job details our crews need to do the work
• Invoices and payment records, including amounts, dates, and payment method
• Communication preferences, including whether you prefer phone, email, or text

For a card or bank payment, we keep the card or bank brand and the last four digits. We do not store the full card number or the full bank account number. Online payments are processed by our payment processor.

SMS consent

A phone number alone is not permission to text you. When you agree to service-related texts, we record that consent in this system, including the date and time and how it was given. Consent is usually recorded by our staff after you agree verbally on a telephone call or during an in-person estimate. On the estimate-request form, a separate checkbox is shown only if you choose text as your preferred contact. Checking that box records consent for texts about that request. Submitting the form without checking it does not opt you in.

If you opt out, we record the opt-out and the date. Reply STOP to a text from us to opt out. You can also email info@mntrees.com.

How we use information

We use this information to:

• Provide estimates
• Schedule work
• Communicate with you about your request, appointment, job, or invoice
• Invoice you and keep payment records
• Provide customer service
• Operate the business, including assigning crews and keeping job history

We keep messages we send and receive about your work so the office has a record of what was said. We keep job, invoice, payment, and message records as part of operating the business.

Service providers

We use service providers for operational functions. Email is delivered through SendGrid. Text messages, when texting is enabled, are sent and received through Twilio. Online card and bank payments are processed by Stripe. If you or our staff use address suggestions, the address you type is sent to a mapping provider (Google or OpenStreetMap) to look up the location. When we calculate Minnesota sales tax, the service address may be sent to the Minnesota Department of Revenue to look up the rate.

These providers process information so we can run those functions. We do not authorize them to use your SMS opt-in data or personal information for their own marketing.

SMS opt-in data

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency varies based on customer activity. Message and data rates may apply.

Sign-in cookies

The staff schedule and the customer portal use a sign-in cookie so a signed-in person stays signed in during that visit. We do not use that cookie to advertise to you.

Contact us about your information

Email info@mntrees.com to ask about the information we have, to correct a contact detail, or to opt out of texts. Minnesota Tree Experts is the name to use when you write to us. Minnesota Tree Experts LLC operates the business, and MTE Acquisition Inc. is the parent company.
